Morning Galaxy (2019)

My plan for my last morning at Torres del Paine National Park was to hike up to a mirador for sunrise. As I was hiking in the dark up to the mirador I noticed that the core of the Milky Way was still visible above me and that the first stages of the alpenglow were starting to happen. I quickly got the camera out and started to play with it to see if I could make a Milky Way photo above the Paine Massif. Breakthrough (2019)

This was my first view of the Paine Massif while I was driving to the park. The mountains were barely visible while to the east is was completely clear. Carpintero (2019)

In a patch of forrest on my way to Cerro Torre I came by this guy. Couple of day before someone told me that the Magellanic Woodpecker were gone for the season I lost hope of spotting one. As I was hiking up to set camp at Poincenot for the night, FitzRoy kept giving me hope that it will show up. When we got here only the outline of the mountain could be seen through the clouds and that’s the most I saw of it for the next couple of days. El Chalten, Argentina. Prints available. Lengas No.1 (2019)

As light filter through the lenga forest in Torres del Paine National Park, these scenes were everywhere. My hike took longer than expected because I kept stopping to look how the gold light made the turning autumn leaves even golder.
